An 8-mil thermoplastic urethane film with a self-healing topcoat. It absorbs the energy of debris strikes, then reforms in warmth — so chips, swirls, and scuffs never reach your clear coat.

How It's Installed

Four steps to a clean install.

Film doesn't perform unless the surface is right. Our process is built around prep first, precision second, patience third.

  1. Wash & Decon

    Multi-stage wash, iron decontamination, and clay bar. Anything left on the paint is locked in permanently once the film goes down, so this stage is non-negotiable.

  2. Paint Correction

    If required, machine polish to lift swirls and oxidation before the film goes on. The film is clear, so any imperfections beneath it are permanent. We fix them first.

  3. DAP Cut & Wet Application

    Film is cut to your specific vehicle from a software pattern library, then applied wet and squeegeed flat. Wet application lets us position the film precisely before it tacks down.

  4. Edge Wrap & Cure

    Film edges are wrapped behind panel gaps so they disappear from view. The car cures 24 to 48 hours in our climate-controlled shop, reaching full bond strength over the following weeks.

Everything you need to know before booking your PPF install.

Quality PPF is warranted 10 years against yellowing, cracking, and delamination. Properly installed and maintained, most installs go the full warranty period. Cheap aftermarket film without UV stabilizers yellows in 2 to 3 years, which is why we only install reputable brands.

PPF is a physical urethane layer that absorbs impacts. Ceramic coating is a chemical layer measured in microns that provides hydrophobic and UV defence. PPF stops rock chips; ceramic doesn't. Ceramic adds the strongest water beading; PPF only adds moderate. Most owners get both: PPF on the impact zones, ceramic layered over the entire car including the film.

Quality PPF is essentially invisible from normal viewing distance. Up close at certain angles you can see the edge if you know what to look for. Most people never notice it. There's a very slight gloss enhancement that most owners like.

Yes, when installed on properly cured factory paint and removed by a professional. Damage usually only happens when amateur film was applied over poorly prepared paint, or when removal is rushed with too much heat. We document install conditions on every job so removal years later is straightforward.

Yes. The clear topcoat rebounds when warmed by sunlight, warm water, or a heat gun. Light kitchen-style scratches and swirl marks disappear in front of you on a sunny day. This won't fix deep scratches that have penetrated the topcoat, but day-to-day rag and fingernail marks heal on their own.

48 hours minimum, with hand wash or touchless wash only for the first week. After that, normal washing is fine. Avoid automatic brush car washes long-term, since the brushes can lift film edges over time. We send you full aftercare instructions on delivery.
