1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of vapourauto.com (the "Site") and the auto-care services provided by Vapour Auto (referred to as "we," "us," or "our") at 1 Sweetnam Drive, Ottawa, Ontario.
By booking a service, requesting a quote, or using our Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site or book our services.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002 that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
2. Our Services
Vapour Auto provides premium auto-care services including:
- Vapour Detailing. Interior and exterior cabin cleaning using saturated steam.
- Ceramic Coating. Protective glass-ceramic paint coatings.
- Paint Protection Film (PPF). Clear urethane films applied to body panels.
- Window Tinting. Automotive window film application.
Specific service inclusions, exclusions, and time estimates are confirmed in the quote provided to you before each booking.
3. Booking and Quotes
- All quotes are provided in writing by email or message before work begins.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
- A quote becomes a confirmed booking only when you reply to accept it and we confirm a date and time.
- Quotes are based on the vehicle's condition as described or shown to us. If the vehicle's actual condition requires more work than agreed, we will pause and contact you to discuss before proceeding.
4. Pricing and Payment
- All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
- Prices are subject to HST at 13%, which is included in your quote unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Payment is due upon completion of work, before the vehicle is released, unless other arrangements have been agreed in writing.
- Accepted methods: cash, Interac e-transfer, debit, and major credit cards.
- A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure a booking for larger jobs such as full ceramic coating or full-vehicle PPF. The deposit amount and refund terms will be confirmed in writing before booking.
5. Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No-Shows
- Cancellations with at least 48 hours' notice: no charge. Any deposit paid is refunded in full.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice: the deposit is non-refundable. For services without a deposit, we may charge a fee of up to 25% of the quoted service value.
- No-shows: if you do not arrive at the scheduled time and do not contact us, the full deposit is forfeited and we may decline future bookings.
- Rescheduling: we are happy to reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice at no extra cost. Same-day reschedules are accommodated when our calendar allows.
- Weather-related rescheduling: for any work that requires controlled conditions (ceramic coating cure time, PPF application), we may need to reschedule due to humidity, temperature, or storm conditions. Ottawa winters and seasonal weather can affect outdoor service scheduling. We will notify you as early as possible.
6. Vehicle Condition and Your Responsibilities
When you bring your vehicle to us, you confirm that:
- You are the registered owner or have authorisation from the owner to have the work done.
- The vehicle's keys, documentation, and any electronic access devices are yours to provide.
- You have removed all personal valuables from the vehicle. We are not responsible for personal items left in the vehicle.
- You have disclosed any known pre-existing damage, mechanical issues, or modifications that may affect the service.
- You have informed us of any aftermarket components, repainted panels, or paintless dent repair areas, since these can react differently to our treatments.
We perform a walk-around inspection at drop-off and document existing damage with photos.
7. Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind our work. If a finished detail or coating application does not meet the standard described in your quote, contact us within 7 days of pickup and we will inspect and correct the issue at no additional cost, provided the issue is the result of our workmanship and not subsequent use, damage, or normal wear. This 7-day workmanship warranty covers every service except where a product line in section 8 states its own installation term.
8. Product Warranties
Film and tint products carry their own manufacturer warranties, separate from our workmanship warranty. Ceramic coatings are rated, not warranted. By product:
- Ceramic coatings: no warranty; each tier is rated for 2 to 9 years. Required maintenance and inspection schedules are provided at handover.
- Paint Protection Film: the film carries an 8 to 10 year manufacturer warranty against yellowing, peeling, and delamination under normal use. Our installation carries a 1 year warranty, which replaces the 7-day workmanship term in section 7 for PPF installs.
- Window Tint: lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, and colour change for as long as you own the vehicle.
These warranties may be voided by certain conditions including automated car washes with brushes, abrasive cleaning chemicals, accident damage, and unauthorised modifications. The full conditions are provided with your service documentation.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for pre-existing damage to your vehicle, including paint defects, rust, dents, scratches, mechanical issues, or interior wear that existed before service.
- We are not liable for personal items left in the vehicle.
- We are not liable for consequential or indirect losses such as lost wages, rental costs, or business interruption arising from a service issue.
- Our maximum liability for any claim relating to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service.
Nothing in this section limits any non-excludable rights or remedies you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
We carry liability insurance for in-studio work. Mobile-service work follows the same standards on customer property.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on vapourauto.com, including text, photographs, videos, logos, designs, and code, is owned by Vapour Auto or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use any content from the Site for commercial purposes without our written permission.
We may photograph vehicles we service for portfolio, social media, and marketing purposes. If you prefer your vehicle not be photographed or shared publicly, tell us at the time of booking and we will respect that.
11. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or services such as Google Maps, social platforms, and payment processors. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these external services. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms.
12. Privacy
Your personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy. Please read it.
13. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site or our services after a change is published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
For material changes, we will post a notice on the Site and notify active customers by email where appropriate.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply within Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario, sitting in the Ottawa region.
